About

The Taniel Varoujan Armenian School has been in existence since 1969, under
the auspices of the Armenian National Educational Committee (ANEC) of the Eastern Prelacy and the Armenian Relief Society.

The school has played a major role within the Chicago community by educating the Armenian-American children in Armenian history, grammar, reading, writing and conversation, thus preserving the Armenian language. Students are also exposed to Armenian music, religion and poetry. The children are encouraged to build strong and meaningful relationships with their peers, which often blossom into lifelong friendships.

School enrollment is consistently at 95-100 students with 15 teachers and assistants.

Locally, the “Zabelle” Chapter of the Armenian Relief Society and church Board of Trustees sponsor and support the school to provide today’s students and students of coming generations with the best Armenian education possible.
